Srinivas Narayanan is the former CTO of B2B Applications at OpenAI, where he led the company’s efforts to build and scale AI products that help transform businesses, including the OpenAI developer platform. Previously, he served as VP of Engineering at OpenAI, where he led the Applied Engineering team - starting with a small group of 40 engineers, he built it into one of the world’s leading AI organizations. Under his leadership, OpenAI shipped numerous iconic models and product features in ChatGPT and the developer APIs, capturing the world’s imagination and achieving extraordinary growth in users, revenue, and API usage. He also strengthened the company’s core infrastructure and integrity systems, laying the foundations for sustained innovation.

​Before joining OpenAI, Srinivas spent over a decade at Meta (formerly Facebook), leading engineering teams spanning consumer products, Oculus, and Applied AI, impacting billions of users. Earlier, he was a founder/founding engineer at Viralizr and Tavant and started his career at the IBM Almaden Research Center. He is a distinguished alumnus of IIT Madras, where he earned his B.Tech in Computer Science, and holds a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In 2025, Forbes India listed him among “30 Indian Minds Leading the AI Revolution”.
