We are clearing out the garage and I found a bunch of old band merchandise that I want to sell online. The pictures I took with my phone have terrible lighting and the colors look completely washed out. I need to crop out the clutter in the background and adjust the contrast so the items look presentable. What tool should I use to clean up these shots before I post the listings?

Indoor lighting always ruins the natural colors of items unless you have actual studio lamps set up. Fixing those shadows on a tiny phone screen usually makes the image quality drop significantly. You could download GIMP on your computer since it handles color correction and cropping well. The interface takes a bit of time to learn, but it has all the standard adjustment layers required for basic photography adjustments.
