I built StepKcal after realizing I had the same question many people have: “How much do my daily steps actually matter?”

Walking is one of the easiest ways to stay active, but most step counters only show a number. They tell you that you walked 7,000 or 10,000 steps, but they don’t really explain what that means for calories or your goals.

So I built StepKcal — a simple tool that converts steps into calorie estimates and helps people understand their daily movement better.

The main features:

* Calculate calories burned from steps

* See how many steps are needed to burn a certain amount of calories

* Get results based on personal details like weight, height, age, and activity level

* Use the data to set more realistic fitness goals

I wanted to keep it simple. No unnecessary tracking, no complicated fitness system — just a quick way to understand the connection between walking and calories.

Small things like walking more every day can make a difference, but having a better idea of your progress makes it easier to stay consistent.

Built this as a small project, but hopefully it helps anyone who wants to be more aware of their daily activity.
